Monroe Township is governed by a board of three trustees who are responsible for managing and setting policies to provide emergency medical services, fire suppression/prevention, road maintenance/resurfacing and cemetery operations to the community. The budget for Monroe Township is in excess of $4,700,000 annually. Accurate and responsible management is imperative to efficiently provide these vital services.

Expert in Municipal Finance

  • 31 years experience working with municipal governments (townships, cities, counties, villages and government agencies) across the state of Ohio developing financing plans to secure funding for public projects including roads, water and sewer systems, schools, hospitals, nursing homes and fire stations

  • Ashland University, Bachelor of Science in Business Administration - Majors in Finance and Economics, Minor in Accounting

  • The George Washington University, Master of Business Administration -  Finance and Healthcare


Experienced Business Owner

  • Owner/Partner of a privately held municipal securities firm that was acquired by a publicly traded bank

  • Managed banking groups with more than 30 employees 

  • Current Ohio Group Manager that oversees a banking team responsible for operations and strategic planning

  • Owner of Timber Run Farm, an equestrian boarding facility, caring for more than 40 horses and managing 15 employees in Alexandria


Leadership

  • Selected to serve as President of the Monroe Township Board of Trustees by peers in 2009, 2011, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2019 and 2021

  • Appointed to the Grow Licking County Board in 2015, current Treasurer 

  • Johnstown Youth Athletic Association Board Member since 2009, past Treasurer

  • Licking County Planning Commission, Board Member, 2021  


Accomplishments and Objectives

  • Under the leadership of Trustee Robertson, the Township applied for and received over $1,3000,000 in grant funds and implemented EMS billing to insurance companies that produced over $3,200,000 since taking office in May of 2008 (No out-of-pocket expense to the Township and Village resident)

 What does a Trustee do for Residents of Monroe Township and the Village of Johnstown?

 Townships are statutory local governments exercising only those powers specifically delegated to them by the Ohio General Assembly or reasonably inferred by the Ohio Revised Code. Monroe Township is governed by a board of THREE elected Trustees who are responsible for establishing, voting upon, and managing policies as it relates to providing emergency medical services, fire suppression/prevention, road maintenance/resurfacing, cemetery operations and upholding zoning guidelines for the Township Residents. 

Monroe Township Residents – The budget for Monroe Township is more than $4,700,000 annually. The Township Trustees are responsible for managing 20 full-time employees and 35 part-time/intermittent employees. They oversee the fire department working with the Chief regarding staffing and all emergency services for the Township and the Village of Johnstown residents. The Board of Trustees hire and manage the zoning inspector, road maintenance supervisor for the 23 miles of Township roads and cemetery operations (Green Hill Cemetery).

Village of Johnstown Residents – Your Township Trustees provide emergency medical services, fire suppression/prevention and cemetery operations to the Village residents. The Village Council manages Village roads and zoning within the incorporated areas of the Village.
